More detailed information about setting up and submitting a GSX Repair can be found here. This document covers aspects of using AppleCare+ Service Fees.

If products for the various AppleCare+ Service Fees have not been imported into CheckIn, they will need to be created. They should follow the same basic template as other Service Parts, though they will not need to be Inventoried.

Common examples include:

ASCH 0150  AppleCare+ Service Fee -- Mac Service Fee Level One (Screen and Enclosure Damage)
ACSH 0151  AppleCare+ Service Fee -- Mac Service Fee Level Two (Other Damage)
ACSH 0128  AppleCare+ Service Fee for iPad
ACSH 0170  AppleCare+ Service Fee -- Incident Fee for iPhone

Others can be found in the list available in GSX.

When setting up an SRO for a Repair with an AppleCare+ Service Fee, after adding the parts as needed, add the appropriate AppleCare+ Service Fee product, at full cost. (As this fee will be collected from the customer, it must appear on the SRO.)

The AppleCare+ Service Fee product should also be added to the PO, at full cost. (The fee collected from the customer will then be paid to Apple.)

When you create a GSX Repair, you'll see the AppleCare+ Service Fee product will appear under the “Parts” tab, and it should be set to the same Coverage Option, Symptom, Reported Issue and Reproducibility as the other parts -- but as it isn't a Service Part, you'll need to check the “Omit” checkbox at the far right to keep it from being submitted as a Service Part.

Once the Repair information has been submitted to Apple, Checkin will return a GSX ID (or Repair Number) and cost of repair, which should be the same as the AppleCare+ Service Fee that applies.

If a different Service Fee has been selected by Apple -- for example, if a Repair were to be covered by the Level Two Service Fee instead of the Level One Service Fee -- you will need to change the AppleCare+ Service Fee product on the SRO, and un-post and change it on the PO, as well.

When parts are received on the PO, remember to receive the AppleCare+ Service Fee product, as well -- even though it isn't being brought into Inventory.
